Jeremy's guide to the Canada Dental Benefit (Part II)

The Canada Dental Benefit provides financial support, allowing families to access dental care for young children.

The Canada Dental Benefit has been implemented by the government of Canada to provide some financial support, allowing families to access dental care. It allows parents and guardians to pay for basic dental care for their young children, while the Government continues to develop a long-term Canadian Dental Care Plan.

How the benefit works

Once approved, you'll receive funds directly from the government. These funds are meant to be used for dental care for your eligible child. You can use them at any licensed dental provider, including our practice.

What the benefit covers

The benefit can be used for a wide range of dental services, including:

  • Regular check-ups and cleanings
  • X-rays and diagnostic services
  • Fillings and extractions
  • Emergency dental care

What to bring to your appointment

When you visit our office, let us know that you're using the Canada Dental Benefit. We can help ensure that your child receives the care they need within your benefit amount.

Looking ahead

The current benefit is an interim measure. The government is working on a more comprehensive Canadian Dental Care Plan that will expand coverage to more Canadians.
