The value of an in-house dental lab

Our dental lab means faster turnaround, better communication, and restorations made right here.

We have an in-house dental laboratory at our Courtice location that serves both of our practices. This means faster turnaround times and better communication between your dentist and our lab technician.

Instead of sending designs out for review, our technician and dentist can collaborate directly—sometimes with you in the room. When you're visiting either location, feel free to ask for a tour of the lab.

Sintering furnace

This high-temperature furnace reaches at least 900 degrees and is used for baking stained crowns. The process takes about 20 minutes.

3D printer

Our Rapid Shape 3D printer creates models and night guards. Printing a model takes around 40 minutes. Night guards, made from a mouth-safe material, take about 2.5 hours.

After printing, items go into a wash station with 99% alcohol for 10 minutes, then into a curing station for 5-8 minutes to set.

Milling machine

Our iMes iCore milling machine creates crowns, bridges, and more. A simple crown takes about 20 minutes to mill.

Dental furnace

We use a dental furnace for zirconia restorations. The piece comes out of the mill in a larger "green state," then the sintering furnace shrinks it to fit perfectly. This takes 5-7 hours at very high temperatures.

Orthodontic aligners

We can design, print, and vacuum-form our own ortho aligners in-house. This has significantly improved the quality and turnaround time for night guards, bleaching trays, and aligner fabrications.
